I was in Venice for the exhibition, I was not dead as some have hoped. Actually I came back Tuesday, but yesterday been dedicated to the recovery forces. You know, I'm not too old to sleep two and a half hours, see * random * number of films from morning until late at night, etc.. The first impact with the shore was, in fact, with the dogs of sbirranza [who was present in large quantities, but with the task, mainly, to watch the girls]. The first movie I saw on the evening of Saturday, was 'Sympathy for Lady Vengeance' [official site] Mr. Park Chan-wook. Wonderful film, Yeong-ae Lee bravissimabarrabellissima for me, deserves a prize, if not the movie, at least her for her intense interpretation. While I paint at home, Jimmy Tong has seen fit to visit me and Gianpy the industrial zone: great eh, for the love of god, but I was dead tired and my legs ached. The Sunday was devoted to Japanese cinema retrospective dle There were several scheduled Kinji Fukasaku film, Fukasaku and when called, I can not answer [© ChaosZilla]. And so, between a 'Battles Without Honor and Humanity', a 'Cops vs. Thugs 'a Graveyard of Honor' and 'Yagyu Clan Conspiracy', interspersed with very brief breaks, the day passed smoothly. The AF squad, with Bunta-shirt, made headlines literally. La Sala Volpi has become the heritage of the boys asianfeastici [than the Excelsior, the official process]. The young people now at the entrance greeted as if we were friends. A note responsible for siglettina animated presentation of the retrospective, but equal to the official with a small addition that was delicious. And so we arrive on Monday. My eyes are glazed with yet another Fukasaku, 'Yakuza Graveyard', and with a 'Fight, Zatoichi, Fight' Kenji Misumi very experimental [had reversed a couple of rolls]. The icing on the cake of Venice, the Great Hall opened its arms to welcome me to see 'Yokai Daisenso' [official site], the new film from Miike-san. Forget the blood and violence, there are none here. The first true super-Mr Takashi Miike is a fable, and uses digital effects to the highest level, definitely at interpreters, with a note of credit for Ryunosuke Kamiki and Bunta Sugawara. One thing that I was a little disappointed to see some people who, after ten minutes into the movie, he left the room, probably expected, in fact, blood and violence. The hope is that the movie comes out in Italian cinemas, because it saw it on television would lose at least 50% of the sense of wonder that are so rife. And even that does not come out with the working title [I hope very provisional] of 'The Great War of the goblins'. Please, Italian distributors, you do not recognize [again]. Do not miss, though.
